What does this mean? Well, it means that in three days, I will be beginning my life within the student teaching fish bowl in which all eyes, including those of school administrators and teachers, my supervisor, cooperating teacher, and several third and fourth grade students will be on me. That's a lot of eyes, right? I thought so, too.
I have chosen to start this blog as a way to keep track of my experience as a student teacher, fill in friends and family about said experience, and let go of a little steam which will without a doubt begin building up. I may also be using this blog as a space to reflect on my days. For those of you that may not know, I really like to reflect on things, especially things related to education and teaching. I will warn you, I am anticipating me NOT updating this on a regular basis (I'm hoping maybe once or twice a week or so), but I promise that I will try my hardest to keep you all updated.
I'll be starting my student teaching experience on Monday, August 15th with meetings and such with my cooperating teacher. The kids' first day is the 18th! I'm very excited to meet the kids and dive into the world of teaching. This is something I have dreamed about, thought about, and worried about. Especially for the past three years, this is something I have truly yearned for. While I have been completely scared out of my mind for those three years in the anticipation of this day coming, I can't wait for what will happen. I hope you will join me in what will be quite the learning experience. I am looking forward to what the next four months will bring.
Now, I've just got to make it through packing and saying goodbye to family and friends.
Really enjoying the bog so far.
